They don't suds up at all, which is what you have to worry about with regular store bought detergents that have added ingredients to make suds. I have a front loader and have never had a problem with the homemade detergent recipes.Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01525449857254113152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2678096563980664471.post-81529587127696764652008-11-01T00:24:00.000-04:002008-11-01T00:24:00.000-04:00Do you have a recipe for detergent for a High Effi...Do you have a recipe for detergent for a High Efficiency (front loading) washing machine? Also, the water here is very hard. Is there a solution to make the detergent work better with the hard water?Dan and Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17836009555399076712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2678096563980664471.post-39187927458507624982008-10-31T12:54:00.000-04:002008-10-31T12:54:00.000-04:00If you don't have time to make this, you can make ...If you don't have time to make this, you can make a dry laundry detergent.

1 bar Fels Napa
1c borax
1c washing soda

Grate the bar soap. Add the borax and washing soda. Mix and put in a laundry container. Use 2 tbl. per load.

I've found that I get better results when I throw in 1/2 c of oxyclean.

This recipe doesn't last as long as the liquid,(you'll have to test it out for yourself though, just to make sure) but it can be made quite quickly, especially if you use a food processor to grate the bar soap. I actually like it better, but that's really a personal call. :)

I love, love, love your site!!!!! I think it's because our water is hard out here in the West. Hard water requires more detergent. If you live in a place with soft water, or if you use a water softener, this could work great. I've heard good reviews from other people.

Sara R @ The Pantry PanelSara Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03634721196680595833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2678096563980664471.post-82011825614985289342008-10-30T01:46:00.000-04:002008-10-30T01:46:00.000-04:00Kerri-Thanks for checking out my blog!
